Pet Safety on July 4th
It's that time of year for fireworks and outdoor fun. Fireworks can be scary for your pets (dogs, cats and rabbits). Here are some tips to keep your pet safe during the 4th of July celebrations. Make sure your dog wears a updated I.D. tag and/or is microchipped. Take your dog on a long walk or run earlier in the day. Feed your pet before firework displays begin and keep a special treat or chew on hand as a distraction. Close doors and Windows and turn on the television or play calming music. Keep your pet in a safe place indoors and create a "safe den". Keep your pet safely away from firework activity. If you have family and friends over make sure to keep your pet away from the front or back doors. Also, inform your guests to keep a eye out for your pet when opening or closing doors.
