Little Paws Pet Boutique wishes you and your little paw a  Safe & Fun Halloween!  Just a quick reminder to keep Halloween Candy out of your pets reach. Chocolate and Xylitol which is a sweetener found in many candies (ex: gum/hard candies), can be extremely toxic to pets. Lollipops and their sticks can be choking hazards and cause a painful obstruction in your pet. Woofstock People and Paws for our State Parks

Happy Halloween From Little Paws Pet Boutique! Wishing you and your pet(s) a fun and safe Halloween.  Here are some useful Halloween safety tips:  1. No tricks, no treats do not feed your pet candy! If you do suspect your pet has ingested something toxic, please call your veterinarian or Animal Poison Control Center.  2. Wires and cords from electric lights and other decorations should be kept out of reach of your pets.  3. A carved pumpkin certainly is festive, but do exercise caution if you choose to add a candle.  4. If you do dress up your pet, make sure the costume does not constrict the animal's movement or hearing, or impede his ability to breathe, bark or meow. Your Dog and Heatstroke. Hot Weather Safety Tips.

Temperatures are rising. As pet owners we should be aware of dangerous to deadly summertime dangers such as: Not overexerting your pets on hot/muggy days, Making sure they have plenty of water, Not walking your pet on hot pavement and not leaving your pet in a parked car.  Heatstroke can occur very easily when the normal cooling mechanisms of a dog such as panting, sweating through their feet pads and nose can't keep their body temperature in a safe range. If you suspect your dog is suffering from heatstroke you should contact your vet immediately.  Symptoms of heatstroke include:  Excessive or exaggerated panting  Excessive thirst  Lethargy and weakness  Warm/dry skin  Excessive drooling  High fever  Dark red gums  Rapid heartbeat  Unresponsiveness to commands and surroundings  Vomiting/diarrhea  Collapse /seizure  Staring/anxious expression  Shock/coma  Cooling your pet in case...
